Meet our founder
A lifelong musician, Eugene Song started his musical education on the piano at the age of 6 and over the years added vocals, guitar, drums, french horn, and trumpet to his repertoire, eventually going on to earn his bachelors degree in music from Brown University.
His professional career started in the classrooms of Boston public schools as a teacher assistant but quickly shifted to the music industry, starting with sound engineering and mastering, and continuing on for 6 years of playing, writing, and working on the business side of music.
After earning his MBA from NYU Stern, he pivoted to a career in technology, where he spent 14 years building digital products and managing teams for companies such as the New York Times, NBCUniversal, and BrainPOP. His most recent experiences developing educational products has instilled in him endless respect for the craft of teaching and insight into building nurturing learning experiences for kids.
Eugene has decades of experience recording, writing, and performing for audiences around the country and the world - as well as local Westchester community events. He’s spent more years of his life in bands than not (and currently plays drums for Trogdor And The Dragons). Opening Green Room Music is a culmination and combination of all of his passions: music, education, and community.
